Will AI give us superpowers, or will it replace us?

We are all familiar with the mediocre chatbots that previous versions of AI provided and that many of our organizations still use. However, the arrival of a revolutionary new generation of GPT at the end of 2022, has exponentially expanded the boundaries and possibilities of AI. These new versions are creating software that can generate new business ideas, write high-impact university admission essays, or even enable artist Boris Eldagsen to win the 2023 Sony world photography awards.

These developments have prompted the Future of Life Institute to issue an open letter signed by more than 30,000 industry and academic leaders including Elon Musk and Steve Wozniak (cofounder of Apple) calling for the pause in giant AI experiments as “advanced AI could represent a profound change in the history of life of on Earth … that no one can understand predict or reliably control.”
With a commitment to innovation and progress, HEC Paris and IP Paris created Hi! PARIS to develop education, research and innovation in the fields of artificial intelligence and data science at the highest level. Based on their joint expertise and a multidisciplinary approach, the Center addresses key challenges related to technological transformation and its impact on business and society. In addition to IP Paris and HEC Paris, the Inria-Saclay Center joined Hi! PARIS in July 2021.

In light of this, HEC Paris and the EFMD have joined forces to assemble a select number of faculty and corporate learning leaders at HEC le Château on campus, the afternoon of Monday, September 25 at 12 :30 to explore what this means for us, our profession and our organizations. We would like to invite you to join the conversation.
